Over the last 6 months our analytics team have worked hard to strengthen our categorisation capabilities and invested heavily in improving our accuracy and coverage. The result has been the deployment of hundreds of updates across our exisiting categories and the creation of several new categories, taking our total category count to 53.

Our sophisticated categorisation engine now includes 7 new categories which have been introduced since September 2017, making it much easier for you to find the bank data you need. The most recent categories include Travel, Government and Council Services and Gyms and Other Memberships. Here is a brief overview of what these categories cover:

Travel:

Our travel category covers all travel related expenses, such as flights, hotels, tours and cruises.

Internal Transfers:

The internal transfers category identifies internal fund movement between sub accounts within the same bank. Only savings or transaction accounts account types are currently eligible.

Other Income:

The other income category identifies derived income from sources other than wages. The category is broken down into items such as earned interest, shares and other assets, rental properties, managed investments and cash deposits.

Government and Council Services:

The government and council services category identifies council rates, boat registration fees as well as infringement notices including speeding fines.

NZ Inland Revenue Benefits:

New Zealand government services benefits paid to individuals by the New Zealand Inland Revenue department.

Gyms and Other Memberships:

Gym membership and sport membership payments.

Online Retail and Subscription Services:

E-Commerce and ongoing online subscription service payments including Amazon, Apple and Spotify.
