Submission Retry

The BankStatements.com.au service supports three main methods of sending statement data to our clients when using an interface hosted by us

  • email
  • URL submission
  • SFTP upload

Email has some built-in mechanisms which protect against short-term network or server availability issues. Until now, if your server was down or there was some issue with the network connection, submissions sent to a URL or SFTP endpoint would simply be lost.

Today we have released a feature to retry sending these submissions if we are unable to send them successfully the first time. The timing for these additional submissions follows the idea of an exponential backoff - we will try several times within the first few minutes, waiting longer and longer between each attempt. The final attempt will be up to about 24 hours after the first one, after which the submission will be lost.

This is currently available only for BankStatements submissions.

This is also enabled in the test environment, and we encourage you to test it out to verify you can rely on it when your servers are unavailable for maintenance, or any other reason.

Test Environment Upgrades

We have also performed several other upgrades behind the scenes in the test environment, to improve and enhance security. These will be released into production shortly. We have been testing these changes over several weeks, and we do not anticipate these having any impact on regular customer or client activities. But we encourage all clients to run regular integration tests in this environment to verify that your specific integration continues to function as expected.
